Dawn Airey

Dawn Airey is a woman of substance. She has not been nicknamed “Scary Airey” and “Zulu Dawn” for nothing. Nominated as one of the hundred most influential gays and lesbians in the UK by the Independent Newspaper, she generally sports a friendly demeanour, but keeps her cards close to her chest, and wields her power with flair. Presently Channel Five’s Chief Executive, many never guess what she is thinking, but she can make a point brilliantly and possesses a precise gift for the gab that can be nothing less than inspiring. Maybe because her Scorpio sun sign not only enhances her auric field, making it literally tremor with charisma, but gifts her with a resourceful, charismatic, rather down played energy that hits the “high spot” every time. When she meets you she will size you up, taking in every aspect of your “look” translating the reality of who you are in less than five seconds. This capacity gifts her with the talent of picking the right man for the job, someone who will fit and get things done. She will also see straight off if you are not going to cooperate, and might give you a rousing pep talk if she is putting you on hold.
Add on her Winged Messenger Mercury’s foray into Scorpio and she is thorough, with a unique capacity to “problem bust”, able to see solutions when everyone else is banging their heads against a brick wall. We would not call her stubborn but certainly determined. She began her career as a management trainee, her obvious talent shone like the proverbial sun, and before you could say “Chief Executive” she had risen up the ranks to become Controller of Children’s and Daytime Programmes for ITV. Obviously her talents are exceptional, with that moon in Libra they demonstrate a knack for powerful stances and organisational chutzpah. Venus in Saggy will make her the woman with her finger on the pulse, and an array of useful contacts and gifted, stellar friends. Her aim would be to travel if not in body, in mind and vision. She has broad sweep perceptions of reality. When it comes to her personal life she expects those she adores to be their own person, able to pay the bills, bang a nail in the wall etc. She would not like you to throw a fit on her at any time, whether it be jealousy or just because you banged your toe on the coffee table.
Mars in Cancer would help her out, she loves her home, and she would have taken out the best insurance policy possible on it. She also likes people in it to appreciate it, and pay attention to the smallest detail, happy when people note the new dining table, especially when her family is seated around it on Christmas Day. Occasion is something she appreciates. She has more than risen up the ladder to success; she is a trapeze artist par excellence becoming Controller of Arts and Entertainment at Channel Four, and subsequently morphing into her present post, as Head of Channel Five, with many exciting new ideas up her sleeve by the minute. Her origins are Liverpool; she went to a local comprehensive and a boy’s private school. She attended Girton College Cambridge and read of all things “Geography” Yet there was always something stimulating, exciting and inspiring about her stance on life. She had a secret plan right from the start, and she was not letting on. She just worked consistently for it, Jupiter in Capricorn giving her a solid take on the realities of life, even at an early age. In fact one could say that her maturity was far beyond her years way back when, and enabled her to deal with any challenge with the wisdom of one much older.
She has not one drop of fear in her, which is a gift bestowed on her by the Gods, and enables her to take reasonable risks, see thru obstacles, and overcome the kind of red tape that would have many of us running for the Bahamas. She rests, when she has done the job. She holidays because she wants to have fun, not because she is stressed out by the job. Stress is not a word she is prone to use. But it is her north node in Virgo that could sum her up. Deep down she feels she is on a mission. She wants to bring news to humanity, educate them, give them facts and figures to ponder over and assess. Details they can work with, and analyse. To do this she knows she has to be well informed, able, and her stirring mission is to be just that.
In 2009 money issues will be coming up for Dawn Airey. There is something powerful in the air, a prospect of enlarging her scope of expertise in some way. She will remain focused and find a new element to operate within, perhaps a reorganisation within Channel Five, or a great show that will pick up quota. There could be real transformation on the cards, ways forward that will stimulate and even challenge those around her. She will burn the midnight oil as she works even harder, but she will feel inspired and elated in the process. She is on the path to the “castle on top of the hill”, and nobody will stand in her way to get there. Good on you Dawn! We are right behind you!
Roseanne Barr

“Women complain about premenstrual syndrome, but I think of it as the only time of the month that I can be myself” quipped Roseanne Barr, that once in a life time show biz phenomena, and certainly no straight laced, refined type of chick. We have an image of her guardian angel standing over her before she incarnated on planet earth, his wings all in a twist yelling “Okay Roseanne, cut out the over reacting, you are born for stardom. So don’t muck it up this time!” Scorpio Roseanne Barr is a drama queen per excellence, you see, her Venus in Sagittarius makes her mesmerizing too, a ball of fun, full of quick quips, the life and soul of any party. Her angel should not have worried, after all she is an awesome survivor, and Jupiter protects her from the more shadowy elements of her personality, even though they have popped up when she least expected them to over the last years, never doing her in entirely, we hasten to say.
Mercury lands gracefully in Sagittarius, so that aspect would have gifted her with a “make em laugh” demeanor, saying it how it is in an ironic and forthright manner. Of course her strong emotional reactions succeeded in putting the proverbial spanner in her works, that Scorpionic emotional underworld, where deeper feelings were hidden under a derisive take, subliminally affected her life. In fact, her existence reads like a Verdi Opera. She dropped out of school and after having a car accident, suffered from constant nightmares and a weak memory. She has declared she was sexually abused as a child, but this has been vehemently denied by both her sister and parents with all the ensuing court battles. She gave birth to her first daughter, Brandi who she gave her up for adoption. She then married Bill Pentland with whom she had three children Jennifer, Jessica and James, who worked with her on her talk show and that is just for starters! She got her showbiz show on the proverbial road when she was just a restaurant waitress, her hilarious comments to customers getting her a spot as a standup comedian. She made her debut on The Tonight Show, and was virtually an overnight success; in fact before she could say “I want to a movie star!” she was given her own show “Roseanne” on ABC television.
Jupiter in Taurus would encourage a realistic take on her career, and the financial offshoot of it. She wanted to be a success, after all her background had been immigrant Ukraine, Russian, Lithuanian and Hungarian, that kind of genetic soup could not have made life easy for her ancestors, she knew she could do better. Her comedic character was well thought out, being the archetypal lower, middle class American housewife, overweight and an acerbic nag. The phrase “domestic goddess” came into being during that Emmy Award winning show. She later said of the show, “I was in a sound studio for almost a decade. At the end of it, like Rip Van Winckle I came back and found that everything had changed. Suddenly there were computers and e-mails, and it took me another 10 years to catch up with regular people. But the TV show is over. What am I going to do? I can’t boss people around anymore – sad but true.” During the show’s run, she met and fell in love with her Twin Flame, Tom Arnold and her life took a down turn. When they first met, Roseanne’s Venus in Sagittarius made her so attractive, such fun, the type of Venus that would have wanted a positive relationship, after all this is a lady who believes in true love, and soul mates. Instead the relationship was too intense and challenging, and it was hard for her to keep up with the twisting emotions in her heart.
The relationship collapsed, she accused him of domestic abuse, and her accusations were followed by one of the most traumatic divorces ever seen in Show biz history. Her Guardian Angel would have been pretty desperate by then. He would have wanted to warn her that this was a clear mix match of OTT personalities right from the start, but Roseanne would never have listened, she feels she “knows” what is best for her ultimately. Her eventual talk show was a spin off from Roseanne, but ended due to a dramatic emergency appendectomy, and a revamped lifestyle. She has since had plastic surgery, and has lost weight. The truth is Roseanne is someone on a mission, whether she is entirely aware of it or not is questionable. Her Jupiter encourages her to follow her star, to use her inner wisdom to go deeper than just the “deal” of life. Jupiter also advises her it is actually okay not to keep to the straight and narrow, but rather push the boat out as far as her talents are concerned.
She has such a quick mind; it is hard for the majority of the human race to keep up with her, including partners and family who are sometimes aghast at her more outrageous quips. But she still is on a mission, and her guardian angel would want to remind her, if only she gave him the time of day. Now Roseanne is very much more sedate with her own new radio show, but make no mistake she will be back with her cutting quips, as she has a few interesting projects in the pipeline, in fact there are important new beginnings even in the area of relationships. So guardian angel, brush up your wings, and get spruced up, things are looking better for our Roseanne.
Jonathan Ross

Jonathan Ross, brash dude of the endearing lisp, the guy who entertains us, shocks us, stimulates us and has us glued to the small screen, could be classified as one big bluff. Why? Well he is a Scorpio, and virtually all his “still waters” run deep. Add to the equation a positive Mercury, also in Scorpio, and we have a wise cracking, nervy guy, liable to say what he means, unafraid to push the boat out, ready to face the music, no matter how drastic it might be. His memory is borderline genial, his imagination picturesque, his creativity high voltage. This is a Renaissance man, a man we love because of his astute entertaining style, his trendy film critic persona, and the rackets he creates to entertain us all. Little do we know that when he goes home, he hangs up his showbiz hat, and morphs into an adoring husband.
His background is fairly middle class Leytonstone, but unusual in that his mother was a TV presenter and his father a journalist. He has inherited their “out there” genes, which enable him to come up to his own particular plate, create an innovative, and strictly personal style. As we inferred above, a loving Venus in Capricorn shows us even more clearly that this is a man who nurtures powerful emotions for his family. His wife Jane Goldman is his rock. He made sure he picked the right girl, he was discriminating. It took him some time, often humming and haha-ing until the choice was made. His three adored children are protected with zeal by the Jonathan Ross publicity Machine. You see, that north node in Virgo walks arm in arm with Mars in Cancer ensuring those he adores are number one on his list of things to do. He takes time out with his hobbies and close friendships one of his mates is Ricky Gervais, who shares his enjoyment of David Bowie CDs; Bowie is Jonathan’s hero, like Jonathan Bowie is a sort of ET, a “Man who Fell to Earth” with a graceful bump, just like Jonathan. Bowie yearned to stimulate his public to reach out to alternatives visions, so does Jonathan, in his own way.
Yet, for all his eccentricities, Jonathan is a rock to his friends, someone they can drop in and chat to any time, especially when they need reassurance and support. His clique is dependable, he trusts his mates with his life. So easy going is he, that at times they forget Jonathan is a dude of huge comedic talent a thrice BAFTA award winner, a man who has worked closely with the BBC and still does, even after a recent hullabaloo on the Russell Brand Show. Jonathan was suspended due to lurid phone messages left on the actor, Andrew Sach’s, answer phone during the show. The affair caused a public uproar, yet the fact is Jonathan always leaps back into the hot seat, simply because he pulls in the punters. His public adores his tumultuous interviewing style, those brash comments, with the ensuing backlash. He panned Heather Mills, after the McCarthy divorce, inferring she had probably “two healthy legs” He joked at the British Comedy awards that his salary was worth 1,000 BBC journalists. This misplaced comment brought down the wrath of the National Union of Journalists on his head. Nonetheless, he marches on, unperturbed, that Scorpio strength of character gifting him with enough chutzpah to be apologetic, and yet stand by his controversial entertaining stance.
He has now returned to TV with a new series of “Friday Nights with Jonathan Ross”, interviewing folks like Tom Cruise and Stephen Fry, creating that high level entertaining vibe all around him. But it is entirely logical that Jonathan is a success, his Jupiter in Capricorn has built him a baseline structure he can stand on safely to touch the stars. His Capricorn placement will always encourage him to build a grounded network for himself and his family, yet he will still cultivate that original hubbub so necessary to his success. Jonathan is more than an intelligent show biz celebrity, he is shrewd. He knows what his audience wants, and he gives it to them. His kitschy dress sense, his “Matrix-style” persona wakes us all up, stimulating reactions to his high wire act of smart repartee, and elegant presentation.
Notwithstanding all the recent hullabaloo, Jonathan can expect a truly entertaining 2010. He will become all the more fascinating, trendy, be the person people turn to, to laugh at themselves, to enjoy their celebrity-dom, their originality. His fans will cheer him on, for he has achieved a rich reputation, his popularity rising as the months pass. If Jonathan were a cowboy he would be riding off into the sunrise, having won his battle with the Indians, the bad boys, with everyone. Keep going Jonathan, we are cheering you on!
Prince Charles

Each year Prince Charles participates in number of charitable projects, he works through his papers in the mornings, talks to his advisers, often starting work from Clarence House. Then off he trots, to strive in his own unique way for humanity. He was born under the sign of Scorpio, a decent man, who wishes the best for the British people, but at times has some challenges standing up to the constant pressure of being a Royal. His marriage to Diana, and his affair with Camilla were consistently in the public eye, and he has been judged as no other royal regarding his taste in women, and personal behavior. Notwithstanding, the pain and grief of losing Diana, and those accusations that he was responsible for her death, he still works for the future with some optimism, building on his strong relationship with Camilla and the many issues that interest him.
The Prince’s Trust, one of his pet projects, encourages youngsters from difficult backgrounds to push for their dreams. Another of his concerns is climate change, and how it affects humanity, deteriorating the quality of life for us all, and throwing the planet into future chaos. He believes his work is sensiblising the public, helping them to realise they can go “Green”, and hold back a possible global catastrophe. Consider that Charles attends approximately 200 public engagements per year, obviously a man who wants to be of use. One of his other pet themes is deforestation, especially of the Amazon. He gives speeches on the subject, distributes pamphlets and reports. He is an intelligent man, he realises the Royal Family no longer retains its past standing, and that when King he will need to build on a new style of rule. Charles was born on the 14th November 1948; a Scorpio to the core, yet above and beyond this sign’s tendency to possess hidden, deep-seated feelings, his royal childhood was responsible for blocking down many of his emotions.
As future King of England, he knew he had to have control over excessive sentiment, but being such a thin-skinned young man, it must have been hard to work through those teenage years at Gordonstoun, a traditional public school where he boarded. He is said to have hated life there, his touchy nature violated by strict rules and deprivations. The system failed to toughen or enlighten, it probably made him even more aware of the extreme nature of feelings. He called it “Colditz in Kilts”. As a young man he liked to have his finger on the pulse, Venus in Gemini inspiring him to social activities, and being an avid fan of The Goon Show, a 1950’s radio comedy staring Peter Sellers. He dated extensively at that time, but few ladies were suitable to become the future Queen of England. His dates included Fiona Watson, a Penthouse model; the actress Susan George, Lady Sarah Spencer, Diana’s sister, Princess Marie Astrid of Luxembourg, Janet Jenkins; and Jane Ward. They were all fun, but not his soul mate.
His soul mate was Camilla, it always had been, and he could not change that fact, as much as he might have wanted to. Louis Mountbatten of Burma, known as his beloved Uncle Dickie, wrote to Charles saying: “In a case like yours, the man should sow his wild oats and have as many affairs as he can before settling down, but for a wife he should choose a suitable, attractive, and sweet-charactered girl before she has met anyone else she might fall for… ” But Charles was not one to splurge his emotions, and remained a bit of a dark, Scorpio horse where intimacy was concerned. He wanted to retain a sense of dignity, but it has to be said the violation of his privacy as a human being can be considered horrific, especially when a British Newspaper intercepted a very private call he was having with Camilla. His inner world had clashed with his outer world. As a result he trusts few. His challenging relationship with Diana was kept under wraps for months, in his view, Diana lost control, and as she started to talk about her marital distress publicly, Charles washed his hands of her. Yet it was not easy either, his moon in Aries could have been overbearing, could have upset Diana. His Venus in Gemini needs mental stimulation, but not consistent stress. He grew bored, exhausted with the marriage, wanting maturity from Diana, yearning for a more motherly figure, rather than an inexperienced young girl, who people liked just because, in his view, she was pretty. Some said he was jealous of her popularity, but the fact was he did not understand it.
Their breakup was inevitably blamed on Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, and did not endear him to the general public. Mercury in Scorpio can make him cynical, sometimes indifferent and dismissive. He pretends excellence from others, and will pick up on weakness till a person becomes excluded from his circle. He will sense those around him, being extremely intuitive, yet he is unable to analyse situations objectively, and sometimes offends as a result. His north node in Gemini will attract him to philosophical matters. Sir Laurens van der Post was a guru to Prince Charles, and fanned Charles’s interest in New Age philosophy and Kabbalistic art. Charles will be going through a crisis this year, there is a sense of change around the Royal Family, issues to stand up to, some of the testing and arduous. From his birthday onwards he will become surer of himself again, overcoming most of the challenges.
A strong Mercurial influence has made him insecure of his emotional choices in the past, but his connection to Camilla will continue to grow, through some quite normal ups and downs. There is a karmic play out between them, and he will stand by Camilla s she might find herself challenged. Charles is a complex man, introverted, with deep passionate feelings he hides from others, sometimes even from himself, but we wish him luck, and hope that he will become King of England.
Debbie McGee

We are sure the lovely Debbie McGee would not be offended if you did a “Honey I shrunk the Kids” on her; she would be perfect as a glorious fairy queen on top of your Christmas tree. Absolutely magical in looks, with that silver light glimmering around her blonde hair, she would shimmer like the star she truly is. For the more ignorant of you, Debbie is the lovely wife of Paul Daniels the magician. Her relationship with Daniels started in 1979 after Mr Bernard Delfont found her a job as Paul’s magical assistant during his summer show at Great Yarmouth. After those predictable emotional “ups and downs”, they were married in Buckinghamshire in 1988. As exotic as she appears, this Scorpio blonde bombshell hails from your basic middle class background, her genes are Anglo/Irish. Her sister works for a bank, her brother is an accountant, and her parents ran a corner shop for years.

Her dance talent was not unexpected, she was always such a pretty honey, and loved to dress up as a child. Sensible mum enrolled her in a dance school, but winning a scholarship to the Royal Ballet must have taken the wind even out of her family’s sails. She subsequently joined the Iranian ballet, becoming successful as a soloist, yet had to cut and run when the Iranian revolution exploded on the international scene, and changed her world forever. She returned to the UK, virtually empty handed until those great organisational abilities of hers set up a series of fantastic summer shows for the Bernard Delfont Organisation. Destiny had wanted her to take another direction, and with four intense Scorpio placements in her chart, i.e. Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Neptune she has never been one to disobey the Fates!
The force of her personality has lead her down many a twisty road since then, synchronistic events could even have her fascinated by the “mysterious” and subjects like life after death. Yet when it comes to the “ups and downs” of spiritual evolution, she has more a “tomorrow is another day!” attitude. Mars in Taurus makes her a basic “feet on the ground” realist. She loves her jewellery, her pretty clothes and gorgeous home, her dog Houdini, such things necessary to a harmonious state of mind! However, long periods of creativity, followed by equally long periods of writer’s block, plus an inexplicable incapacity to express herself, can be frustrating to this lovely lady. Mrs Moon in Gemini is the culprit, that mind of hers goes hither and thither like a grass hopper, never totally relaxed and tuned into that colossal creative core in the very centre of her being. Mr. Mercury in Scorpio will compensate, picking her up yet again, stimulating her thinking processes till they are as clear as crystal. Her capacity to analyse a problem is astounding.
She has borderline telepathic abilities; see her make mince meat of another’s problem! But ask her to work out her own issues, and she reaches for the mineral water. She will not spare anyone once she has worked you out. If you are good she will lavish you with praise, if you are bad she will tell you in no uncertain terms! Even the powerful Mr Daniels is riveted to his seat by her insights, yet she is a rock to him, helping him, if he lets her, reading him, and most people, like a book, and if she can’t it will be “all systems go” until she can. Sexy, magnetic, seductive, complex, wanting things to go her way, grist for Mr Daniel’s mill, we are still awaiting full disclosure when she publishes that famous book she has been writing for years. No matter the gossip around some of her business ventures, such as the model agency setback, her chart shows she was in good faith.
That aforementioned Jupiter in Scorpio will have had her working hard to achieve, and taking a “business is business” approach. Sentimentality is not her thing when it comes to commerce! Anyway, she will know how to invest her money and get the best deal; in fact she will not allow herself to be manipulated by anyone! If she listens to the positive urgings of Saturn in Saggy she will follow her dreams, her inspirations, her creative impulses, and never let anyone pull her down. If she heeds Mr Saturn’s nagging voice, she will be glum, rather pessimistic, and want to hide away and cuddle her dog. But let us assure you, this lady is one great chick. Her Uranus in Leo makes her a one off, a myth in her own time, with a “never say die” spirit. Nothing can pull her down, for she will always bounce back like rubber ball, resilient, optimistic, and full of new ideas. Wherever she goes she will try to create her own mini family with her staff, with her friends, her hubby and dog Houdini. She needs that security, for at times a curtain must be drawn across the pain of life, and only a strong core of true, blue friends can help her do just that. Even if a cold reality will strike her on occasions, if she develops her more soulful gifts, she will find comfort as the years ensue. She is living through a noteworthy period of life.
There are some changes coming, changes that she has wanted for some time. Slowly, patiently she has been taking small steps to achieve a new style, a new way of being. She is ready to write a new chapter of her book, the last one, and we sense if she gets it published it will be a huge success. In fact she could find out why she has incarnated on this planet at last. Bless you Debbie, you are noteworthy talent, and we cannot wait to see your next trick!
Whoopi Goldberg

Caryn Elaine Johnson, alias Whoopi, winner of an Emmy, an Oscar and a Grammy once announced with that gravelly voice of hers, “What I am is a humanist before anything else, before I am a Jew, before I am black, before I am a woman. And my beliefs are for the human race, they don’t exclude anyone!”
Whoopi Goldberg, stand up comedienne, talented comedy actress, one of the most crucial African American women in show biz, has pulled herself up from an emotionally taxing, and challenging past – she became addicted to heroin and married her drug counselor. This extreme play out of a remarkable life so early, could be laid at the door of both her sun and moon in one of the most intriguing and passionate signs of the zodiac, Scorpio. And to think she is one of only seven African-American actresses to receive a Best Actress Oscar nomination makes us realise there is a unique driving force moving her forwards, and healing her life.
That awesome energy makes her unafraid of being totally herself. Always an intrepid attitude towards making good, she worked the most humble of jobs. She was a brick layer, and cleaned up in a funeral parlor, mainly to fill in between acting jobs. Certainly, her creative thumbprint eventually touches everything. Her smash hits include Sister Act, The Color Purple and Jumping Jack Flash. Her talent is baseline inimitable, and this makes her an influential force in Hollywood, and on the small screen. She has appeared in “Absolutely Fabulous” as a marriage broker! And by the way, also known for her “on set” reactions, she defended Christian’s Bales well publicised blow up on his latest film set. Whoopi said: “We don’t know how many hours he has been working and its tough. I mean I know it sounds ridiculous but I too have gone off on people because if you’re a professional you know what you’re not supposed to do. It is your art form.”
Of course such a radical perception of her art is, again, to do with her Moon in Scorpio. It makes her extreme. Big sadness, big joy, big love, big pain, big everything. If she likes ya, she likes ya, if she hates ya she hates ya, Whoopi is not going to be “diplomatic” unless her fans necessitate it. Her Mars in Libra assures us that when she lets rip, usually she does it in as logical a way as possible. She is too intelligent to overly exposed OTT emotions other than “behind the scenes”. The cosmic love of her fans drives her to compromise her temper on stage and screen. She is prepared to go to ridiculous degree of performing excess to earn their adoration. Remember her as one of the first and only women comediennes who was allowed to host the Academy Awards? And she did it with that eccentric bird outfit on too. So funny it was hard to concentrate on the ceremony itself. In fact, her costumes often have us rolling in the aisles.
Who can ever forget her in a nun’s habit in Sister Act, or that wacky satin, puce ensemble in “Ghost”? Mr. Mercury plays her up in Scorpio, but he feels good there too, surprisingly. Mr. Mercury assures us she is the funny, creative, focused, comedic, chatty Whoopi we know and love. He helps her deliver a punch line with aplomb, in other words Mercury saves her comedic day. He relieves the intensity of her more complex emotions, helps her see the absurdities, and comment on them with entertaining insights. She has intuitive perceptions, her jokes, and probably the book she wrote – entitled, by the way, The Book - were channeled from some yet to be discovered place inside Whoopi’s soul!
The Goddess Venus, in Saggy, would see to it that she is positively charming, a joy to be with. She will keep us up late with her hilarious diatribes about the “meaning of existence”, and we would sip wine with her and talk about a free-spirit’s perceptions of reality too. Whoopi is essentially a free spirit, someone who does not fit “in the box”. She is not beautiful, she is not gracious, she is not always in a good temper either, but she mesmerizes us nonetheless, and has us reaching for our kerchiefs, when tears of laughter stream down our faces. We are not surprised to learn that when she falls in love she does not want a “traditional” relationship. She wants to be swept up in some big guy’s arms and taken to the pyramids, perhaps sit on top of them giggling. She wants a man to be imaginative, and if he bores her she dumps him. Her past loves included Frank Langella and Ted Danson. Jupiter in Leo, is her Guardian Angel though, it makes her bighearted, liberal and kind. Born on the 13th her birthday number means “transcendence”. In fact it has to be said Whoopi has indeed “transcended” her past addictions and is now playing a winner’s game.
With her true node in Sagittarius, she has overcome her lack of faith, and expands her visions to take in a more spiritualised vision of life. The more she becomes involved with the metaphysical, and opens her heart to higher truths, the more happiness will fulfill her. Her spiritual nature will always guide her on and up, and help her make the most of her awesome talents. Whoopi can expect some really exciting news of entertaining projects over the next couple of years. But the expression of them will be helped, again, by that dedication to a higher path, and within that an embellishment on her already hilarious delivery. Certainly creativity and self expression will move her on to the second stage of her showbiz career, a stage that will lead her to transform, and to becoming the very best that she can be. Keep on going Whoopi, and never forget to make us laugh!
Leonardo di Caprio

A cross between one of the most “beautiful people in the world” and “Renaissance man” go a long way to describing Leonardo di Caprio. The story goes he kicked his mother in the womb while she was looking at a Da Vinci painting. Well, Da Vinci was a genius, and Leonardo a whiz kid who began his career as a bubble gum poster child. Yup, Mr Di Caprio is still quite a charmer; his Mercury in Libra makes his conversation eloquent, his demeanour delightful, his relationship with the press balanced. Yet De Caprio’s cherubic countenance is a cover up for a Scorpionic love nature, which means passion, complexity and mesmerizing sexuality. He adores the beauty of his sensational girl friends, Moon in Libra, but he skates the surface of relationships, and keeps those sadder secrets locked away in his heart. This does little to encourage a happy family life.
His ways of viewing marriage are conservative. He admires committed couples, and his close friend Kate Winslet’s happy relationship. But being a dad and a husband would be challenging for Leonardo; he prefers to fulfil emotions through carnal intimacy. His Venus and Mars in Scorpio reveal a magnetic charisma, inevitably drawing those he desires towards him, but he can play with hearts, withdrawing emotionally to hold the power in a relationship. He is unfathomable to his women, succumbing to moments of explosive frustration that clash with his open faced, fair haired looks! One could assume his complex love nature is a result of his parents’ divorce, but it is also sort of “soul thing”, a need to work out a karmic quirk that growing up in a particularly seamy area of Los Angeles might have brought to the fore. Yet Mr di Caprio has done much work on himself to balance out his over sensitivity.
With Saturn in Cancer he will understand the multi layered aspects of a human being, and his acting skills glow with poignancy as a result. In fact, brilliant acting is number one on his “list of things to do!” Kate’s tragic lost love in “Titanic”, the confidence trickster in “Catch Me if you Can”, the anti hero in “The Departed” reflect this capacity to be someone else, someone as far from his own psychological makeup as “chalk is from cheese”. The most precious element of Mr di Caprio is that his Scorpionic intensity has opened him out to the more spiritual elements of existence. He will acquire a broader understanding of his higher side as he progresses through the next years. He will be inclined to expand through spiritual “knowing” as a result.
2009 could be a year of change, he might feel exhausted, he might feel emotionally fragile, he might realise that there are certain elements to his existence that are no longer relevant to his development as an actor and a human being, and want to let go of them. He is building up maturity, emotional know how, and an individual expansion that will ensure, probably mid way through 2010, a new set of expressive skills, a new way of approaching his art. A deep involvement in an emotional relationship, or the ending of one, will transform him in ways that he would have never thought possible. Leonardo is brilliant and intense, his nature more profound than one would imagine from his friendly demeanour and good looks. He is a riddle only he can resolve, and certainly it looks as if he will, and become even more of a myth in the process!

Who is Anne Hathaway anyway? It seems as if we have always known her, so why is she an enigma? After all, she is that stunning office beauty, who turns the boss’s head. The stylish girl slinging her handbag down Main Street with enviable aplomb. The loyal friend, difficult to be green with envy about, even though incredibly good looking! Very much like the character we all knew and loved in “The Devil Wears Prada”. Yes, Anne’s “nine on the Richter scale” acting talent seems to come so easy, but little do we know such flair has been honed down with sweat and tears.
Underneath that beguiling exterior this maiden rocks! Sun in Scorpio means hard work is her second name, Mercury conjunct Jupiter belies an above average intelligence, not Albert Einstein level, but near enough. She could have become a brain surgeon, a nuclear physicist, even a spiritual healer, we do not exaggerate. Do not be fooled by the doe eyed gaze, that creamy skin, those oriental outfits, so Libran moon, she will never reveal she is a rocker, not now anyway, even though her “leather jacketed” alter ego speeds up and down Grand Canyon on a Harley Davidson! Her sun in Scorpio is a result of many incarnations on this planet you see, she “knows” things. Yes, even though Anne manifests fascinating interpretations not only in art, but also in life, the homegrown Anne is hard to get to know. Always will be.
Some might find it “way out” to think she conducts her own orchestra, that her make up team eats out of her hand, that her dress code stuns the “fashionistas”, that her publicity is conducted by family members or trusted beings, and any love affair she chooses to experience is kept well under wraps, especially when it goes wrong! She is the damsel who holds her winning cards close to her chest. Who lets people “think” they know it all, when she knows it better.
Joking aside, what seemed like childish pranks to her mom, have now melted away to reveal one of the most attuned young comedic actresses of our time. This year Ms Hathaway is turning a corner, letting go of the past, her look will change, her demeanour could become sultry, she will present different roles of a challenging nature. She is kind yes, but she does not undervalue the power of the “steel hand in glove”, not anymore. She has learnt some interesting life lessons; they will stand her in good stead. Past relationship tests have cracked open her egg of fixed ideas, and how the world “should” be at last. She has graduated in human experience and maturity, a fascinating new role could thus drop into her lap in 2009. Something she can really get her teeth into.
Mars’s feisty influence will press her to reach out for unique opportunities. Creativity, creativity, creativity will be her mantra. She could start up her own fashion outlet or write her autobiography. This time next year we might not recognise Anne Hathaway. She will have edged her way out of the “girl next door/Princess” with a striking cameo that proves to be one of her best performances. Anne, so simply passionate, delicately stubborn, a wonderful mix of Scorpionic intensity and sweetly exotic Libran moon, is a riddle, second only to the Mona Lisa. Have you noticed that enigmatic smile? It will get broader as she transforms into a powerful contender for the Oscars in 2011, a woman with more than one surprise up her sleeve indeed. Anne Hathaway’s alter ego is waiting on the sidelines! Grand Canyon here we come!
Scarlett Johansson

Never get into an argument with star Scarlett Johansson, even if she has been voted the “Sexiest Woman Alive!” Why? Well even though she resembles the prettiest cutie pie ever she is convinced her opinion is right; so it is rare she will back down. With her Sun and Mercury both in Scorpio she is just so intensely funny, her jokes cause such a side-splitting laugh, her wry comments would fill a joke book, someone should think of writing it! Yet she will see through the fakeries of life and read the underlying motivations of most people. She can spot a false flatterer at 30 yards. She sizes folks up well, picks up their energy field. This might be due to her twin brother Hunter being so close. He was born only 3 minutes after her. She read his moods from an early age, she could tell when he was “putting it on” before he did! Therefore her small frame, gorgeous face, light hearted veneer are contradictory to her true, rather wise nature.
One would expect to see her looking more bookish, acting more intellectual; that phrase “you can never judge a book by its cover!” could apply to Scarlett. Even though she is as curvy as a young Marilyn Monroe she does not pin her success on looks at all. She has different values, that of a serious lady, an actor to be reckoned with after roles in such successes as the “Horse Whisperer”, “Lost in Translation” and “The Girl with the Pearl Earring”. She is such a bright, new talent that genius Woody Allen spotted her for a role in one of his film exploits. She said about him “I just adore Woody, we have a lot in common, We’re New Yorkers, Jewish, we have a very easy going relationship”, so good was their connection in fact that Scarlett gave one of her best performances in Woody’s “Match Point”.
Mercury working its magic yet again? Mars in Capricorn, however, drives her forwards; she is determined to be the tops. To commit to becoming an even more critically acclaimed actress. She can detach from her sex appeal well nowadays, even make fun of it, or commenting wryly upon it. She would feel embarrassed if her peers only judged her for her looks. She is always open to new experiences and relationships, marriage being one of them. She has been engaged to Josh Hartnett the actor, and married Ryan Reynolds quite recently. She does have a soul secret though, one that destiny will teach her. Her secret is that with Saturn in Scorpio there is transfiguration ahead, she will be challenged to let go of her past, to move on. She will transform as result, becoming someone entirely different.
This challenging Saturn placement will make sure she understands the profundities of life and acquires more maturity as a performer and a person. As she unfolds into more life experiences Scarlet will be pushed to access her greatest gifts, knowing when the going gets tough she has chosen her own destiny. In other words she will become a “Menisci” a Yiddish word for a “fine human being”. She will not let anyone know how profound she really is, unless they are super close and she will always appreciate the sudden changes necessary to her personal evolution! In the meantime she will chat and net work, creating a buzz around her wherever she goes, a carefree buzz that will always keep the energy high and those screen interpretations so heartfelt and a continual delight to her audience.
With Venus in Sagittarius Scarlett will be ready to discuss her views of humanity and the future at a drop of the hat, her interest in politics will escalate over the coming two years and her backing of Obama will seem even more significant. She was singing her all on the Obama music video “Yes We Can!” That phrase could apply to her also. She is a participator, a doer, no vapid beauty, more likely to dig a ditch than spend hours on her own makeup prior to red carpet commitments.
As 2009 evolves Scarlett will be recognised yet again for her acting abilities. Her bright spark attitude will pull to her a number of fascinating roles, which she can shine in. She will be more in control of her publicity machine and could make radical choices about her style of dress and PR. She will become very inquisitive about new ways of presenting her gifts and could take lessons from a coach in that process. She is a rising star and will continue to make progress in all facets of her life. Her restlessness will not deter her from continually seeking stability or from creating a firm emotional foundation. She will go out of her way to maintain her beloved friends and people she can rely on around her and feel supported and inspired in that process. Scarlett is a very lovely girl indeed and frankly we cannot wait to see her evolution over the next couple of years.
Joaquin Phoenix

If one were one to say that Joaquin, twice nominated for an Oscar, is the kind of fella that has such strong likes and dislikes and he could spit out an over seasoned curry at a high class Indian restaurant, would you be surprised? Would you be concerned his feelings run so deep they could hit the centre of the earth? That he either loves you or hates you and is not shy of showing it? That his multi-layered sentiments are not only to do with his Scorpio sun sign but something rather complex regarding the structure of his soul? He is a bizarre man, the unkind would say down right weird. Perhaps this has to do with his unusual looks. A cross between Mr. Rochester of “Jane Eyre fame” and a Mexican bandit.
He is genial, fervent, borderline obsessive and as stubborn as an ox, he will push and pull at his roles to get the hidden, more esoteric meaning over to his audience and he never fails to give stirring performances as a result. His brilliant interpretations make our blood run cold. His mad, incestuous Caesar in the Gladiator was historic and fitted him like a glove! The thing is Joaquin does away with niceties, he considers them a waste of time. He is easily aroused, incensed and fiery. He has fought demons within himself including a drink problem and had to overcome the death of his beloved and gifted brother River Phoenix that pushed him to the brink of breakdown for over a year.
His Venus in Scorpio gives him a sixth sense about what’s up with virtually anyone and he will court a woman so passionately the heat would warm a football stadium, his sexual charisma pushing her to do things she never thought possible! He was the son of a family of Children of God Missionaries, which might account for his sense of the infinite, the divine, and an unusual mission to transform reality, to tell the total truth of it, to go deep into it. He does not shrink from the cruelty of life; his capacity to suffer is deep seated. His subconscious mind stimulates a constant search for outer expression. No emotion can be locked away for long within him. But the positive energy of Mercury in Libra refines these rough edges, knocks back his excesses, makes his perceptions surprisingly gracious, cultured, and as refined as he can seem coarse! For underneath the volcano instead of lava there are gushing streams of creativity and Oh such a delicate soul!
His Neptune in Sagittarius makes him a bit of a wizard, a bit of a shaman, with the capacity to embrace universal ideas and extend those outwards. No small time, narrow-minded life attitudes for Joaquin, it all has to be grand, large scale, spread out! He loathes bigotry and middle class prejudice. Jupiter in Pisces stresses an inner path to follow, and this will continue over the coming years. He will want to create more polished performances, a distinguished reputation. Maturity will help him turn the corner, and grow more peaceful, more balanced.
He has fought to overcome his childhood feelings of inferiority, he has pushed to use his deeper feelings to make a strong case for his professional life, and his talent, with Saturn in Cancer his romances have been learning tools against which he can measure his humanity. He is a spiritual being; he might carry more inner light than is apparent.
Over the next couple of years he will have to deal with the stringent laws of cause and effect and learn from them once and for all. He could be faced with emotional challenge, as he sees his career stall somewhat and he cannot define where he is going artistically. But he will arrive at a superior form of living his life eventually and will find love and career take on less intensity but more depth. His search for truth and enlightenment is somewhat Buddha-like, and will eventually help him to rediscover a more gracious sense of himself and his profession.
We will see less of him for a year or so and then he will burst back onto the showbiz scene and stun us with a mighty performance, an indication of his greater sense of Self. Joaquin is a challenge to our perceptions, a wizard touching our unconscious and stirring us to strong reactions! He will prove his inspiring worth over the next few years. He is someone to watch indeed!
