Russell T Davies

No matter how grey then sky is, and how heavily the rain falls, Wales certainly stimulates a man’s grey matter and brings forth creative geniuses such as Martin Amies, Roald Dahl, Ken Follet, Dylan Thomas and Dick Francis. There is obviously something about those craggy Welsh peaks that inspires the exceptional to reach into their psyches and bring out their best. And so it must be said for the 6 ft 6” tall, renowned screen writer and producer Russell T Davies born under the sign of Taurus! He has created exceptional TV dramas such as “Queer as Folk”, “The Second Coming” and more than revived the lagging “Doctor Who”. He grew up in the Swansea suburbs, later attending Oxford University and receiving a degree in English Literature. After cutting his teeth in Welsh theatre, he moved on to BBC TV, and began working as a production assistant. He later morphed into director of young kiddies’ shows such as Play School and subsequently the very popular Children’s Ward on ITV, which won a BAFTA for Best Children’s Drama in 1996. 

Russell is brilliantly gay and it is said that some of the experiences he wrote about in “Queer as Folk” were based on his own experience of the highs and lows of the gay clubbing scene. His Venus in Aries would make him forthright when it comes to his love life, the kind of man who jumps in the deep end, never holding back from what he perceives as emotional intensity. Underneath that complex exterior there beats the heart of a simple man, one who understands the very heart of life. Martine McCutcheon

So just “Who does she think she is?” Come on give it a go?  Here is a clue, the aforementioned is the title of this lovely lady’s biography. Yes, it is the delightful Martine McCutcheon who some might describe as the archetypical “Cockney Sparrow” the cute Londoner with the golden heart. But, this particular sparrow is not of your usual plumage, this little bird has multicoloured wings and sings like a nightingale. She also has that chirpy “I am all right Jack” attitude to life too, and we admire her for it. She is a hard worker. She likes to keep her career moving fast.  She is also into expansion and personal freedom.

Her climb up the mountain to fame was not exactly steep, but certainly challenging at times. She studied at the famed Italia Conti Stage School, and first appeared in a cool drinks commercial at 12 years of age. She followed that on with bit parts, including a role in the popular television show The Bill. But she really hit the high note when she became the star attraction of East Enders for a mammoth run. She was a beloved favourite, that gal Tiffany. Who could overlook the open hearted bird that always got it wrong when it came to”lurve”? And who could ever overlook the plump and gorgeous sandwich lady delivering tea and cucumber sandwiches to Prime Minister Hugh Grant, in the hit film “Love Actually?”  Now I know you are wondering, what sun sign she could possibly be?

Well, “feet planted firmly on the ground Taurus” of course!  Martine is earthy and warm hearted with an intense Scorpio influence that could unleash feelings that break the sound barrier from time to time. In fact, Martine could throw a plate or two in the right direction, as she can get irate at obstacles in her path. We would not classify this as a tantrum, rather as a display of energy overload. Some might say that makes her more fun, and you could be right.  She never holds a grudge and the guys will be drawn to Martine like pins to a magnet.

Her Venus in Taurus makes her “physical”, certainly no “touchy feely” type, just plain sensual.  She might have been hurt by love, and could be prickly, especially when she first knows you. Look at her forehead, round and broad, so be aware there is not  one narrow minded thought in her head, she is ready for new ideas on a global level, yet when it comes to her talents, or life styles, she will listen to you talk about changes, but might take a while to get moving on them.

She is no stick in the mud, our Martine, but she can lose her way during those “Gemini mind game” moments, even though she will always work through the negatives, and make sure she wins over her doubts.  With Venus on her side Martine will be younger looking than usual this year.  She will also utilise that magical, “can do” vibe to her advantage, and this will stand her in good stead probably well into next year too. Her love life will work out with those romantic stars winking at her, so she needs to be prepared for some emotional shifting over 18 months or so.

David Beckham

David Beckham is an earth bound being. Maybe because he is a Taurus. In fact, he is in his element with both feet planted firmly on the football pitch, preferably kicking a ball around. In fact, he wanted to kick a ball around from a very early age. Probably when he first popped into the world at Whipps Cross University Hospital in Leytonstone. We are convinced that as a tiny babe he knew he had a singular destiny, and that it had been assigned to him by “the forces that be”. They advised, “David remember to say “I want to be a footballer!” when people ask what you want to do when you grow up!” And he did, to the consternation of his teachers, and childhood buddies. David has the carriage of a man with a mission. Handsome, sincere, straight on, matter of fact, he is totally focused on fulfilling his calling; His background is not as “straight on” as one would believe.

 

David identifies with his maternal grandmother’s Jewish religion; he is a sincerely spiritual man. In his book “Both Feet on the Ground”, he describes Sundays in church with his family, and yet how his calling was to follow the Jewish religion. His parents were fanatical Manchester United supporters who would frequently travel to Old Trafford with little David in toe. In fact, it seemed as if everything that happened to David would lead him to his ultimate destiny, to become one of the most talented sportsmen in the western world.  As a kid he got to go to Bobby Charlton’s football school, a good start for a budding talent. But his launch into the professional stratosphere kicked off when he joined Manchester United. He did not look back from there. Sure he has had ups and downs on the way, but he is a solid, practical man, and always knew how to handle challenges, whether they meant being sent off the field for a foul, having a very public fall out with Sir Alex Ferguson, or suffering severe abuse from British fans.

 

His moon in Capricorn will always protect him from a hostile world, even though he might seem detached, unassailable, not given to stoking the fires of conflict. His key word is equanimity; he would not like anyone to see how he has been affected by aggressive fans, and unjust criticism. Mr.Mercury in Taurus will keep him focused on the here and now, never wavering, his concentration equally focussed on taking on a free kick or filling in his tax return. The latest news on that lovely Taurus, Emma Forbes, is that she has been proposed as a replacement for Fern Britton on This Morning! Well, she has the right vibe, with that Venus in Gemini. In fact, she is a whiz when it comes to the art of conversation, and can put virtually anyone at ease. Plus she is a doting mother of two; the kind of lady the great British public can identify with. In any event, with her show business pedigree to stand her in good stead she would be a good person to hold through a This Morning crisis, i.e. the star guest does not show up, a sex symbol spills tea over her decolte, an overweight housewife pulls a muscle during an exercise class. She is the beloved daughter of Nanette Newman, and Bryan Forbes “a child of the arts!” as it were.  

 

Her parents are both gifted entertainers, her mother a popular actress, her father a gifted film director, actor and writer. We imagine she was brought up in a glittering show biz milieu that included doting celebrity friends, in fact during her childhood years a next door neighbour was said to be Elton John! Emma was a graduate of the well known Italia Conti stage school and began her career as a children’s presenter, few will forget her “girl next door demeanour” and fresh faced approach to kid’s programmes such as Live and Kicking. But she had no intention of presenting L&K forever, She was an ambitious lady, still is, with that Moon in Scorpio. She moved on to presenting “What’s my Line!” and become the poster girl of a long running ad campaign for “Head and Shoulders” shampoo too. Perhaps as a result of that campaign, she was voted sixty fourth in the line up for the world’s sexiest women. But she is no big head; she takes success in her stride. She has worked darned hard to achieve, to overcome her own doubts and fears! 

 

Her Sun sign in Taurus makes her a practical, “feet on the ground” type of gal anyway.  She exudes a personality that some may be in awe of it, and okay she could be inclined to dogmatism, or sticking her oar in. The occasional “storm in a teacup” might be the order of the day when she is only trying to balance her energies, like deciding whether she likes you or not. So yes, Emma, we would love to see you on This Morning, we know you would be an absolute Star. A kind and concerned Venus is guiding you on your way throughout the last part of 2009 well into 2010. Your buzz words will be “fun” and “success”, because things have been a bit slow, and now there are some possibilities to do the things you really love to do. We are shown success and popularity are going to be delivered to Emma on a silver tray, and she will be the last one to say no. Probably she will even pop off to make a cup of tea! Good on ya Emma!

“Who is that Girl?” An exotic perhaps? Of Armenian descent on papa’s side maybe, with those striking looks?  So exquisite, one has to pinch oneself just in case she might not be real? Well, folks Cher, the singer, the actress, the businesswoman is a larger than life Taurean! The story goes her ma and pa divorced when she was little. Struggling to make ends meet, her mum, an aspiring model of Cherokee descent, acted in bit parts to keep the family show on the road. Cher was temporarily placed in foster care. But mama’s extrovert genes were to rub off, and Cher survived it all, knowing only one thing for sure – she wanted to be famous.  No matter the chaos of her childhood, Mercury in Taurus made Cher happy to work hard for show biz success. Music stimulated her, picked her up off the floor, made her want to touch the stars. She was gorgeous, it was the sixties, and flower power was on the rise. She was on the rise, even if her search for beauty and success seemed as if it would be never ending. 

Her hippy looking style, long straight black hair to her waist, a skinny midriff, pajama pants pulled Warren Beatty when she was a mere teen. Therefore, her budding sexual maturity and streetwise ways more than compensated for early disappointments at school, when she was labeled a dyslexic. Therefore she was not left entirely dumb struck when Clive Anderson said, “Wow, Cher, you look like a million dollars… is that how much it cost?” on his TV show, an illusion to extensive plastic surgery! She knows success puts her in the hot seat. She was born on 20 May; the number 20 is associated with renewal, and Cher has reinvented herself a thousand times over, and will continue to do so.  She won an Academy ward for “Moonstruck”, a Grammy, an Emmy, three Golden Globes and a People’s Choice Award. 

Her sun in Taurus makes her earthy, inclined to dig her heels in the film set, sometimes afraid to express her deeper emotions far from the show biz spotlights, in case she gets hurt, for her heart is soft and sweet. Mars in Leo will make her independent, emotionally free spirited. She has been involved with Gregg Allman had a fling with Elvis Presley and Marlon Brando and dated Tom Cruise.  Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton and Mark Hudson have been sometime flirtations! Cher embodies an unapologetic freedom and fearlessness that some of us can only aspire to!” But it is Ms. Moon in Capricorn that makes Cher such a vital personality, someone who can protect themselves from the onslaughts of show biz media, with all its bitchiness and one-upmanship. She does not need to be anything other than naturally poised, stable, and ready to hold her own.  Her Capricorn moon helps her forgive those who hurt her, remaining high-minded when it comes to live and let live, understanding sometimes unfair behavior, bearing no grievances against anyone who did her wrong, whether emotionally or career-wise.

Jean Paul Gaultier

“The Drama Queen of the Fashion World?” “A Genius”, “A Menisci” certainly an “Enfant Terrible”, born under the sun sign Taurus, Jean Paul Gaultier, has his finger on the fashion pulse, his designs are still revolutionary, sometimes radical, devastatingly stylish but not to everyone’s taste. Remember the sculptured bra Madonna wore on her Blond Ambition tour, and those outfits on the KYLIE 2008 tour?  His unconventional models shocked in the eighties and nineties, those older men, those voluptuous women, those dudes in Kilts, those chunky body shaped perfume bottles, that long skirted coat worn by Keanu Reeves, even Beck’s sarong.

Born in Paris, he never received any formal fashion training he was naturally genial, and Pierre Cardin was more than impressed by Jean Paul’s first scribbled drawings.  Jean Paul’s childhood shows as fairly French bourgeoisie in origin, but his need to break down fashion sound barriers was borderline phobic. His sun in Taurus, with an Aries flavoured moon, shows him prone to sudden rages that fade just as quickly. He can seem buttoned down, consistently on edge on the cutting table, yet his suave, humorous side emerges delightfully at interviews and fashion shows. Add on Mercury, also in Aries, and Jean Paul can be addictive company, his skew-whiff perceptions more than mildly entertaining. Lily Allen

The phrase “I look at the sun and I am a winner!” from her song “Fear” could be Lily Allen’s motto!  With so much controversy buzzing around her, most folks could think this young Taurean lass is a mix of “whiz kid”, and “mixed up kid!” But the fact is, she has some brilliant genes swimming around her cerebral matter she is the daughter of the gifted actor and musician Keith Allan, which other than the placement of her “stars” at birth, probably gave her a kick start. She grew up “street wise”.
 
When her parent’s marriage broke up she lived with her mother Alison Owen, the film producer, in Islington, a “working class” environment, she states! One could doubt that perception, she went to some of the best schools in the country, but hers is an “I aint no snob” attitude, and it drives her artistic talent. The considerable media hullabaloo buzzing around her persona basically cuts no ice with Lily; it is what she wants. You see this girl has an astute creative sense, and so much Libran moon shinning down on her, one could say she has an inborn nose for show biz, coupled with a balanced and determined will to achieve. Interestingly, with that brilliantly placed Mercury in Aries, she certainly does not lack for talent, or want to live a “Status Quo” existence; she decided to hang out in Ibiza for a while. She progressed on, inspiring, visioning, questing and creating a blog that drew alot of musical attention, eventually challenging her newfound public with a very singular talent. This girl is smart enough to know the occasional “storm in a teacup” will hit her public’s funny bone; she sees it as normal to make the odd controversial statement.

Some might say she has pushed the boat out too far, too frequently. Others might also say she is sporadically “under the influence”, or that her comments about her songster colleagues are beyond “impertinent”. Do not be fooled, she knows what she is doing.  This gal has resilience written into her genetic code, oodles of self confidence is the cream on her “life path” cake. Think of it this way, “Putting the proverbial cat amongst the pigeons” is part of her mission to encourage folks to rock and roll!  And make no mistake, that Mars in Gemini will make her feisty, especially reactive to those who pick bones over her talent. She retorts with “sharper than sharp” wit, garbed cracks to get the airways buzzing.  Her fans are sitting on the edge of their seats! Yet we expect her to be insolent! She has a right to be; after all she did her long divisions faster than most other kids on the block.

Again we wish to remind you that she is a stubborn Taurus, so it is obvious that nothing, we repeat no-thing, will shift that bee from inside her bonnet!  Luckily, a Libran moon walks hand in hand  with her down life’s high road, so it is unlikely she will overly upset the applecart, and she will never  go the long way around to get her career needs met. She has a creative hotline to a “rather stroppy muse”, this makes magic, manifests synchrony.  To Lily being in synchrony means being who she is 150 percent of the time.  She will not compromise, nope not for you or me, except if you are a beloved mate, and if you are one of those in trouble, she will be supportive and “there”, which puts pay to those consistent  “enfant terrible” rumors whirling around show biz circles.
 
The phrase “she is not all that she seems” is apt when it comes to Lily. She “seems” “rebellious” but she is quite sensible she “seems” controversial, she is a baseline 23-year old. The only thing she might worry about is money, but she is also a closet penny-pincher, so she will not throw it out of the window, at least not all of it at once!  Jupiter in Aquarius is what clinches Lily’s deal. It means she has a “broad sweep” perspective. She seeks to find ways and means of informing and challenging with a vision that does not fit into a main stream perception. She wants to grate with “stuck in the mud” analyses of reality, so prevalent when fear is the emotion driving people forwards. Sometimes her efforts might fall on rocky ground, but she is convinced, she is a Taurean after all!  

This year, her Pluto placement, Pluto being the planet of “going deep” (not something our friend is averse to), encourages her to revamp her finances, decide how she is going to continue with her career style, focus on a new aspect of presenting herself to the public, or dig down into her deeper motivations and push to accomplish new goals.  She will get very clear indeed!  And we will be aware of her. She is unstoppable, unbeatable and incorrigible.  A real show biz brat for some, a real show biz talent for you and me!

Robert Pattinson

If someone were to tell you that Robert Pattinson’s “matinee idol looks” were of no consequence to him at all, would you believe them?  Yet his sun in solid Taurus accounts for Robert’s laid-back attitude about his “gorgeousness”. Good sense tells him he is just lucky, and he certainly does not believe he is anyone special. Mars in Capricorn still makes him a cool dude though, and the truth is you will never know what he is thinking, especially when he does not want you to know.  His tendency to go dead pan when put on the spot could be a result of that British “stiff upper lip” and education in one of the best public schools in Great Britain.  Stubborn could be an adjective that describes his general demeanour, especially when looking to get what he wants.

When thinking deeply, he gets lost in reverie and might swing back so low in a chair he could tip up and fall on the floor! “Robert pick yourself up” – only joking, because he is, after all, destined for a very stimulating career. Sensitive moon in Cancer tells us that hard work makes him feel secure and if it is to do with self-expression, the more the better. Those super easy going moments are frequently just a “passing fad” by the way, especially when he is immersed in his roles. He is an excellent actor, “dark, moody and conflicted” as in Twilight or Dracula moments. These interpretations are as far away from his real personality as chalk is from cheese.

He is well balanced. He knows when to pitch in and he knows when to rest, inner conflict is not on his list of “things to do!” To counteract the occasional over sensitive moment, he has good old, bull headed Taurus lined up in Mercury mainly to help him focus on positive outcomes and build future success. Did you not know Taureans always reach their objectives? Regarding his romantic roles, one could not say Robert is like other British film legends, he is no Cary Grant because although tall he is not exactly lanky or debonair, instead he has a rather dark look that can express a mix of “love em and leave em”, coupled with “romantic obsession”. This of course makes the fans sigh with dreamy longing. Amorous “roles” are not the true essence of the guy.

You might be surprised to learn Robert is light hearted when it comes to his Eros. His love stories have included the lovely Nina Schubert but his real soul mate has not shown up yet. He loves to converse with the birds of the trees with a potential paramour and hates to get heavy, in fact obsession is certainly not his prerogative in a love affair. At least he thinks not. Pluto in Scorpio can make him yearn far too deeply when he falls passionately and he might desire the physicality of his object of affections with intense and sensual yearning. But in general, he wants fun and versatility, to chop and change, to be stimulated, and with Gemini in Venus he is certainly not looking for Helen of Troy but rather a cute, fun, rather slim girl, who can make him laugh. He hates emotional “drama” in his every day life, even though he is so good at it “on screen!” Robert’s present tendency to be “jolly” will not detract from his spiritual search later on in life, with Jupiter in Pisces there is a deep, albeit hidden, yearning for a major understanding of the human condition even though the bloke might not be prone to admit it. He will want to contribute actively to the world scenario and could investigate philosophy or go deeply into the “why we are on earth” scenario.

Fame somewhat embarrasses him and although he is proud of his achievements he feels he has even more to contribute to his life, and the lives of others. He is no “airhead” in other words, and would hate to live out his acting career as a strictly romantic hero. He is already being offered mature, challenging roles and he will learn to express feelings and contrasting emotions with unique dynamism. He is intent on perfecting his craft and again with Mercury in Taurus, he is perfectly capable of burning the midnight oil to get a scene perfect. He is professional, punctual and serious in his commitment. This young man has learnt to be patient with collaborators, takes a practical approach to problem solving and remains grounded with his well-balanced attitudes charming others. He will keep his wits about him even when confronted with the challenges looks and fame dish out to him on a regular basis.

This chap will not lose his way or get addicted to adulation. He has been well brought up, he has manners and he will remove himself from bitchy colleagues in a bat of an eyelid, especially if they do “neurotic” on him.  He knows how to cancel people out and protect his space when needed. His common sense helps him do that!  He is incredibly kind, and would always help someone out if he could, especially his family and friends. His tendency to “blockishness” is minimal, although it does emerge on occasions, but mainly with mates he likes to joke around with.

He is in short, your archetypal British male star, a wonderful, handsome lad with a dynamic future ahead of him and over the next 18 months he will not only touch the clouds but learn that love can be incredibly exciting too, with Venus so ready to shine for him. We will watch his future with fascination and our continued support.

Johnny Depp

A high school drop out, an ex garage rock and roller, a gobbled up horror film victim in Nightmare on Elm Street and now a doting father, guess who? Yes our friend Johnny Depp who is all of these things and more. He is a man born under the sign of Taurus, one who always wanted to climb to the top of the mountain and stand in the light of artistic success. Jupiter in Aries will make him go getting and explorative. Yet after an off beat childhood in Kentucky, and somewhat of a rocky climb to success as a teen idol, he tends to underplay his talents these days.

What we do know for certain is that he demands privacy; he has made that clear enough. His 2002 break from the silver screen is an example of his need for peace and quiet. He more than needs his central point of reference in France too; he adores his family and exquisite French companion Vanessa Paradis, the model and songstress. He wants to protect those he loves from publicity and paparazzi! They are his celebrities! They are unique to him! Our guess is Johnny likes French cooking. He is a Taurean after all, and the “feel” “taste” and “smell” of the goodness of life is necessary to his physical well-being. An intense moon in Scorpio will make Johnny’s emotional life complex.

He is inclined to have mini “dark nights of the soul” when he can be emotionally fragile. He will then shut out intimate communication and get very private to reconnect to his stability. His fascination to women remains rock solid however. Handsome, offbeat, flirtatious, fascinatingly eccentric, those hats, those sunglasses, those bandanas. Venus in Aires suggests that when he falls, he falls hook line and sinker and suddenly. The ex sirens in his life have included Sherilyn Fenn, Winona Ryder, and Jennifer Gray the Dirty Dancing chick. A look across a crowded room, a fascinating demeanour, and he is seducing the object of his affections with refined demonstrations of “Mars in Leo” ardour. He had Winona ‘s name tattooed on his arm, along side that of his mum. The off again, on again Kate Moss love affair was long term and they lived an intense “High on the Hog” existence, somewhat abnormal with a moon in Scorpio. The intensity would have unbalanced him. He became unwilling to compromise his star studded, highly lucrative acting career for love or family life until his little daughter was born of course. Then everything changed for Johnny. With Saturn in Aquarius, he will want a familiar bunch of mates to share his lifestyle and to unload to. He is a good friend to them all; Kate Moss will always be his concern and he will stand by any buddy in trouble. Johnny understands life can be a mess, he has been prone to excessive behaviour of his own in the past, in fact he was known to have torn up an entire hotel suite in a fit of “something” when he and Kate were a number.

Venus in Aries again? Mercury in Gemini means he has a broad repertoire of intellectual interests, he will touch on “this and that” including philosophy, psychology and spiritual concepts but will not go too deep, he does not require intellectual knowledge to bounce off a new idea or understand a concept. In truth Johnny Depp is a man apart. A man who dives within himself looking for the answer to existence.
