Madonna

madonnaAre you sitting comfortably, let us begin!  “Once upon a time there was a little girl, who had a little girl, right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good, she was very, very good, but when she was bad, she was horrid!” Most of us admire that superlative Leo, Louise Veronica Ciccone, alias Madonna. She is a show biz phenomena worth approximately $78 million, and a once in a life time “mix match” of talent and chutzpah. Number eight on VH1′s list of the “100 Greatest Women of Rock and Roll” she has an IQ of 140. She also oozes Latin style, her Papa is Italian, perhaps that was why  Madonna created those sexual/religious archetypes to knock dad’s, the Vatican’s and everyone’s, “socks off”!

Tick these different “Madonna’s” off your list: “good time girl”, “material girl”, “porn star”, “sexually liberated chick”, “spiritual soul in evolution”, “Kabala acolyte”, “British Aristocratic” etc.. Who cares if critics pan her consistently? Who is bothered if she has been involved in a series of abysmal films, such as the dreaded “Shanghai Surprise!” and the devastatingly bad “Swept Away” directed by hubby Guy Ritchie. Time and time again she pulls yet another “white rabbit” out of her hat to calm us all down! She has written some great children’s books oblivious to past ridicule for her bizarre emotional escapades such as that rock and roll relationship with Sean Penn. Of marriage she once said   “I think everyone should get married at least once, so you can see what a silly, outdated institution it is!”

Her fans worry not if she outraged the Puerto Rican House of Representatives for pulling their national flag between her legs during a concert, or if certain members of the general public balked at the sight of her kissing Britney Spears full on the mouth and saying “f” more than 13 times on the David Letterman Late Show. She always pulls through, her fans know that. The recent break down of her marriage to Guy instigated a move from London to the USA. Against all odds, she has smoothly reinvented herself, looking spectacularly gorgeous as she blazes a new trail to the public’s heart. But is she really a super gifted individual who overcame all odds, or a shrewd business woman with self aggrandizement tendencies?  Madonna has certainly morphed from dear little Louise Veronica Ciccone into one of the biggest female entertainers in show biz history.  Her mama, French Canadian Madonna Ciccone, died of breast cancer. Little Louise suffered deeply. That moon in Virgo would have encouraged her to “compensate” her mama’s demise. So naming herself “Madonna” just like mama, she carried a maternal torch and blazed it out into the world for all to see.

Madonna’s blessing is her natural connection to the Divine, she follows the road less travelled, confronting her demons. She will continue to blaze on, acquiring self knowledge and spiritual awareness in the process. Why? Well Leos are no quitters. Their fiery light can also unveil delusion, the hypocrisy of dogma and destructive man made laws.  “Ray of Light”, for which she won three Grammies, and her Golden Globe winning performance in “Evita” could have been dedicated to her mother’s memory, her performances were tender and beautiful.  Yet still, something mystifying is driving this woman on. Mercury in Virgo would help her perceive the multifaceted nature of reality.  She would also be prone to moments of nervous exhaustion, almost unable to talk as she heals her body and mind, and prepares herself for the next onslaught of creative ideas and total dedication to her craft. Venus in Leo would make her a passionate mother to Lourdes, Rocco and the newly adopted little David, forceful in the way she expresses her maternal emotions. Playfully sexy, she creates exciting “love dramas” diving straight into the intimacy of a relationship, giving utterly, spell binding to those who love her. She would not go a “whole bunch” on “moderation” especially when it comes to her sex life.  The Mr. Plodders of this world are not for her. She goes for creative, angst ridden geniuses and larger than life folks.  Of course everything is fine and dandy until Mr. Genius smiles at her across the dinner table with spinach on his teeth!  Madonna’s very treasured possessions could crash against the bedroom wall when he starts answering back also, (she would carefully avoid aiming at her esteemed art collection, with pictures by Frida Kahlo, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali). Yet as she yells to “Kingdom Come” she knows she is moving on.

That same, turbulent Venus in Leo will have her sailing across new red carpets anyway, her Leo tail high, her face shimmering, her skin glowing, and her attitude akin to magnanimous. She knows how to be as sweet as a pussy cat. Mars in Taurus would give her incredible resistance to press onslaughts, crazed fans, physical stress, and radical life challenges. She undertakes the most grueling work outs, ones that would find you and I sobbing in a heap on the floor at the very thought of getting up at 3.10 AM to eat sauerkraut and run around the block 300 times.  So who was the Fairy Godmother who gifted wee Louise Veronica Ciccone with such grit and determination, all that talent, all that revolutionary insight and aptitude for artistic expression? Jupiter in Libra folks, that’s who. With good old Fairy Godmother Libra in her chart, her talent is born from a burning desire for justice, a need to stand up against those who doubt her, bringing to light prejudice, attempting to heal heart rending loneliness.

Madonna stands at the top of the mountain ready to plunge into the depths to show herself, and us, who we truly are. She is our mirror. Her crazy antics, her chameleon sub personalities, her gift for getting under our skin can only be due to good old Mr. Saturn in Sagittarius, he encourages her to seek truth and purity, even in a hypocritical society.  She titillates us, tantalizes us, challenges us, gets on our nerves, angers us, and yet we adore her. So what is up for her, within the next 18 months or so?  She will let go and move on, aching with feelings of lost love, her shadowy moods catching her unawares when she least expects it.  Yet it has been ordained by The Fates that her and Guy must end, and something better will come.  Not so much a new love, but a new way of being herself, a new way of performing, a new way of communicating.

She will touch the sweetness within her heart, and find inner balance.  She knows it is time, she knows she has reached a place of equilibrium, and that she can write a new chapter. We will watch her transfixed because this lady never ceases to amaze us.  She is baffling, peculiar almost, but we love her, and wish her the very best.  Continue to astound us Madonna!  We cannot wait for you to rattle our cages.
