Newsweek Magazine stated of this astounding woman, media mogul and philanthropist. “Every time a politician lets his lip quiver or a cable anchor “emotes” on TV, they nod to the cult of confession that Oprah helped create.” Okay, she does not have the African Queen looks of Naomi Campbell, nor is she your baseline showbiz personality but her showbiz chutzpah is matchless. She introduced a compelling “open your heart, let it all hang out” style to the airwaves, which has been imitated around the world. Her sun sign in Aquarius stimulated her personal evolution to this end, her spiritual perceptions presenting galvanizing “events” to the public. 

We love her popular website “Oprah.com”, where we can enjoy meditation techniques and interviews with revolutionary new age celebs. She shrieks “reinvent yourself” at us, never afraid to take controversial stands even though heckled for her ground-breaking attitude. She is avant garde yet mainstream, investigative yet inspirational. Interestingly, she was nominated an Academy Award for the Steven Spielberg film the “The Color Purple” a story of a black woman’s struggle, similar to her own. Born in Mississippi to unmarried teenage parents her mother’s immaturity did not protect her from a traumatizing rape at only nine years old, and at fourteen, the birth of a child who later died in infancy. She lived with her grandmother on a pig farm for a while, her gran encouraged her, noticing that as soon as she could talk, and it was as if Oprah was on stage.

She later moved to be with her father Vernon, whose encouragement helped her pursue a higher education. She was earmarked as a bright spark, skipped two classes, became an honors student and was voted the most popular girl on campus. With the help of a hard working Guardian Angel and the glittering rays of Mercury in Aquarius her distinctive Spirit emerged triumphant. She chose to follow a media career. One of the youngest newscasters on air, she soon hosted her own show. By the mid 1990s her interviewing style brought personal prominence and mega bucks. She is said to be worth $1.1 billion. Yet, what magical formula makes everything Oprah touches turn to gold?  Okay, she is obviously distinctive, impressive, has great breadth of vision, yet could it be that Aquarian capacity to disassociate from negative emotions that is the key? She once said “be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough”. 

A stirring Mercury placement will help her cultivate that inspirational capacity to see a bigger picture. Perhaps her life’s inspiration works because it is found in the hearts, souls and dreams of others, in humanity’s capacity to overcome all odds, just like she did as a child. She will not let anyone block her, repress her. She could fall down over and over again, but that capacity to shine in the dark has made her the immense star of today. Her unique moon placement gives her that sparkle, that “once in a life time” presence, rare qualities that cannot be defined or put into a box, no matter how many envy, judge her, or see her as an upstart! That moon of hers shines on relentlessly leading us all on with inspiration! 
 
In 2009 we will see Oprah working even harder. She will pinpoint her highest visions, pushing herself and her staff to accomplish. She wants something even better for her fans, something even more “enlightening” and she will not hold back until her search clicks into place. Some astounding project is being planned, perhaps to do with saving the world. Her name will be even more bandied around the world as a result she will continue to remain a phenomenal individual, who has graced our television screens with a revolutionary talk show concept that has changed the face of world media forever. Her support of Obama will continue, and we will watch agog, as somehow, something, deep within us changes, together with her.
